25 August – 15 September: Winter Games

The Winter Games NZ is known as the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest snow and sports event, attracting the world’s best ski and snowboard athletes over two weeks from late August to into September.

Held between Coronet Peak, The Remarkables and Cardrona Alpine Resort, the competition schedule is packed with everything from high-octane alpine ski racing to thrilling free-ski and snowboard park events, to adrenaline-inducing freeride events.

The perfect time to visit and admire the national talent, celebrate snowsports and get into spring skiing in New Zealand.

24 September: The Remarkables Closing Day

Join Red Bull and the NZ Ski Team for their annual closing day extravaganza at The Remarkables ski field. The day will include the legendary pond skim and giveaways throughout the day. 

1 October : Coronet Peak Closing Day

After a fantastic winter and a memorable 75th anniversary celebration, Coronet Peak Ski Field have decided to extend their season until the 1st October.  

Bring together your friends or family to end the ski season at ‘the home of good times’.  Why not join the NZ Ski team and don your finest beach wear to join them for the final exciting day of spring riding. 

18 October: Queenstown Marathon

Adequately named ‘the world’s most beautiful marathon’, the Queenstown marathon takes participants on a journey to soak up the awe-inspiring mountains, pristine lakes, and stunning countryside of the Queenstown Lakes District. 

There is a distance suitable for all styles of runner, and a portion of the race fees go towards the Queenstown Trails Trust for the development of trails throughout the Wakatipu Basin. 

Why not push yourself to compete or take part non-competitively… or simply show your support to the thousands of runners and enjoy a cold drink by the finish line. 

October 2023 – April 2024: Remarkables Market

The Remarkables Market is more than just a marketplace; it’s a testament to Queenstown’s vibrant community and the breathtaking beauty of the surrounding landscape. Whether you’re a foodie, an art lover, a nature enthusiast, or simply someone looking to soak up the local culture, this market has something for everyone.

Set against the backdrop of the Remarkables Mountain Range, visit every Saturday across spring and summer from 9am until 2pm.
