Local Favourites: Restaurants

In light of the current economic climate, we understand now more than ever the importance of supporting local small businesses and Queenstown restaurants. In addition to our wonderful tapas menu at Eichardt’s Bar and local meat and seafood offering at our sister property, The Grille by Eichardt’s, our Head Concierge, Ben Misere, has created a list of local restaurant recommendations for your next trip to Queenstown. Or, if you’re a lovely Queenstown local, a list of restaurants we encourage you to support in times of uncertainty from takeaway options to gift vouchers.

The Bunker

European & New Zealand

A small and intimate restaurant, ensuring a high level of quality and service. The menu focuses on locally sourced produce with European and Kiwi flavours. Rustic fine dining describes the cuisine and the overall experience, prepared using the best of local and domestic produce.

Blue Kanu

Asian Pacific

One of Queenstown’s most popular restaurants. Mixing both Pacific and Asian style, Blue Kanu’s cuisine is recognised as healthy, fresh and exotic, encompassing Pacific influence, helping to create the new cultural soul food not seen in this region before. They also have a large range of refreshing, original cocktails, alongside a lengthy wine list.

Jervois Steakhouse

Jervois’s menu showcases a veritable selection of meats in all forms, sourced from the very best beef and lamb producers. Excellent service with waiters with a wide range of knowledge about their range of steaks, as well as chicken and fish dishes.

No5 Church Lane

New Zealand & Vegetarian

Known for its world-class cocktail list, Central Otago wine list and locally-sourced, re-imagined traditional New Zealand cuisine – and perhaps the best vegetarian offering in Queenstown’s meat-focused scene. Sample the unique flavours of Otago, with our ‘Trust the Chef’ five-course experience.

La Rumbla

Latin American

At La Rumbla, they focus on big, fresh flavours with Latin American influences. Their dishes are designed for sharing and represent a tapas style of dining. Using local suppliers where possible, everything at La Rumbla is made from scratch. Their highly skilled bartenders collaborate with the kitchen to come up with unique cocktails that play with flavours.

Note: La Rumbla is located in Arrowtown, a 20-minute drive from Eichardt’s Private Hotel / Queenstown town Centre
