We are now very excited to be taking bookings for our June Winemaker Dinner, which will be hosted by Chief Winemaker Christopher Keys of Gibbston Valley Winery:
This very special evening will feature a five-course degustation menu designed and prepared by Eichardt’s Head Chef, Andrew Kean. Each of the five courses has been expertly matched with one of Gibbston Valley’s legendary wines.
“Gibbston Valley is synonymous with the beating heart of Central Otago. Here, the test of beauty is the struggle from which it is born. Just as famous and older wine regions have their preferred vintages, we would like to take you on a trip of our ‘best ofs’ by varietal. Though we are keeping those specific and rare vintages a secret, we can share with you the varietals in question: Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and a late harvest dessert wine—after a glass of bubbles, of course.
Despite the diversity of our 7 varietals and 20+ labels that we produce, all of our wine is hand-harvested, hand-crafted and amounts to less than 23,000 cases, which allows us to rigorously maintain the artistic level of care that designates a winery as ‘boutique.’ We invite guests old and new to challenge reputation with empirical experience. Welcome back and let us pour you a glass of what we love.”
Seats are priced at $100 per person which includes all food (five courses) and wines for the evening plus a welcome drink on arrival.
